Baked Orange Custard

Ingredients

  • 4 oranges
  • 1 pint milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Allinson cornflour
  • sugar to taste

Method

  1. 1 Peel and slice the oranges, removing the pips. Place the fruit in a pie dish and sprinkle with sugar.
  2. 2 Boil the milk and thicken it with the cornflour. Allow the mixture to cool slightly.
  3. 3 Beat the eggs and carefully stir them into the thickened milk, ensuring it is not too hot.
  4. 4 Pour the custard over the oranges and bake in a moderate oven (350°F) until the custard is set.
  5. 5 Serve the pudding hot or cold.
