Baked Orange Custard
Ingredients
- 4 oranges
- 1 pint milk
- 3 eggs
- 1 tablespoon Allinson cornflour
- sugar to taste
Method
- 1 Peel and slice the oranges, removing the pips. Place the fruit in a pie dish and sprinkle with sugar.
- 2 Boil the milk and thicken it with the cornflour. Allow the mixture to cool slightly.
- 3 Beat the eggs and carefully stir them into the thickened milk, ensuring it is not too hot.
- 4 Pour the custard over the oranges and bake in a moderate oven (350°F) until the custard is set.
- 5 Serve the pudding hot or cold.
