Baked Orange Custard Tart
Ingredients
- 2 large oranges, quartered and seeded
- 2 oz sugar
- 2 oz butter
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 1-2 tbsp Seville orange juice
- 1 sheet puff pastry
Method
- 1 Quarter the oranges, remove seeds, and beat the fruit in a mortar with sugar and butter until smooth.
- 2 Beat in the eggs and a splash of Seville orange juice until well combined.
- 3 Line a baking dish with puff pastry and pour the orange mixture into the crust.
- 4 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) until the pastry is golden and the filling is set, about 30-40 minutes.
