Baked Orange Custard Tart

Ingredients

  • 2 large oranges, quartered and seeded
  • 2 oz sugar
  • 2 oz butter
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1-2 tbsp Seville orange juice
  • 1 sheet puff pastry

Method

  1. 1 Quarter the oranges, remove seeds, and beat the fruit in a mortar with sugar and butter until smooth.
  2. 2 Beat in the eggs and a splash of Seville orange juice until well combined.
  3. 3 Line a baking dish with puff pastry and pour the orange mixture into the crust.
  4. 4 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) until the pastry is golden and the filling is set, about 30-40 minutes.
