Baked Onion And Egg Casserole

Ingredients

  • 4 medium English onions
  • 1 1/2 oz butter
  • 2 oz Allinson breadcrumbs
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

  1. 1 Peel and slice the onions. Place them in a pie dish with butter and seasoning.
  2. 2 Bake the onions until quite soft.
  3. 3 Whip the eggs and mix with milk, breadcrumbs, and the baked onions.
  4. 4 Pour the mixture into a greased pie dish and bake in a moderately hot oven (350°F) until set.
  5. 5 Serve with tomato sauce.
