Baked Onion And Cheese Casserole
Ingredients
- 1 lb Spanish onions
- 4 oz cheese
- breadcrumbs
- pepper and salt to taste
- 1 oz butter
- 2 tbsp water
Method
- 1 Peel and thinly slice the onions. Grate the cheese.
- 2 Arrange onions in a pie dish in layers, sprinkling cheese, pepper, and salt between each layer. Finish with a layer of cheese.
- 3 Scatter breadcrumbs over the top, then dot with bits of butter.
- 4 Pour 2 tablespoons of water into the dish. Bake for about 2 hours.
