Baked Molasses Sweet Potatoes
Ingredients
- 4 large sweet potatoes
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup New Orleans molasses
Method
- 1 Peel and slice the sweet potatoes lengthwise.
- 2 Place potatoes in a covered saucepan with butter, salt, pepper, and enough water to moisten.
- 3 Steam until tender, then drain.
- 4 Transfer potatoes to a buttered baking dish.
- 5 Pour molasses over the potatoes and bake until the molasses caramelizes.
