Baked Meat And Bread Crumb Stuffed Peppers
Ingredients
- green sweet peppers, uniform size
- softened bread crumbs
- minced meat
- salt
- butter
- onion juice
- water or stock
Method
- 1 Cut a piece off the stem end or halve peppers lengthwise. Remove seeds and partitions.
- 2 Parboil peppers in boiling water for 5 minutes, then drain.
- 3 Mix equal parts softened bread crumbs and minced meat. Season with salt, butter, and onion juice.
- 4 Fill peppers with the meat mixture. Place in a baking dish with ½ inch of water or stock.
- 5 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for 30 minutes. Serve in the baking dish or transfer to a serving platter.
