Baked Meat And Bread Crumb Stuffed Peppers

Ingredients

  • green sweet peppers, uniform size
  • softened bread crumbs
  • minced meat
  • salt
  • butter
  • onion juice
  • water or stock

Method

  1. 1 Cut a piece off the stem end or halve peppers lengthwise. Remove seeds and partitions.
  2. 2 Parboil peppers in boiling water for 5 minutes, then drain.
  3. 3 Mix equal parts softened bread crumbs and minced meat. Season with salt, butter, and onion juice.
  4. 4 Fill peppers with the meat mixture. Place in a baking dish with ½ inch of water or stock.
  5. 5 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for 30 minutes. Serve in the baking dish or transfer to a serving platter.
