Baked Mashed Potato Rolls With Onion
Ingredients
- 2 lbs cold mashed potatoes
- 1 boiled Spanish onion, chopped fine
- 1 oz butter, melted
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tsp powdered thyme
- Nutmeg, pepper, and salt to taste
- Allinson nut-oil or hot butter for brushing
Method
- 1 Chop the boiled onion fine and mix it into the cold mashed potatoes.
- 2 Add the melted butter, egg yolk, thyme, nutmeg, pepper, and salt to the potato mixture. Mix everything well until combined.
- 3 Shape the mixture into small rolls, approximately 3 inches long.
- 4 Brush the rolls with nut-oil or hot butter and place on a floured baking sheet.
- 5 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for 10 to 20 minutes until browned. Serve with brown sauce and vegetables.
