Baked Macaroni And Oyster Casserole
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb macaroni
- Salted water for boiling
- Butter for dish and dotting
- Oysters
- Pepper and salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups milk or cream
- 1 cup cracker crumbs
- Grated cheese
Method
- 1 Break macaroni into inch pieces. Boil in salted water for 20 minutes, then drain and rinse with fresh boiling water to remove starch.
- 2 Butter a pudding dish. Layer macaroni, oysters, dots of butter, salt, and pepper. Repeat until nearly full.
- 3 Beat eggs with milk or cream. Pour mixture over the macaroni and oysters.
- 4 Top with cracker crumbs, dots of butter, and grated cheese. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.
