Baked Macaroni And Oyster Casserole

  • 1/2 lb macaroni
  • Salted water for boiling
  • Butter for dish and dotting
  • Oysters
  • Pepper and salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk or cream
  • 1 cup cracker crumbs
  • Grated cheese

Method

  1. 1 Break macaroni into inch pieces. Boil in salted water for 20 minutes, then drain and rinse with fresh boiling water to remove starch.
  2. 2 Butter a pudding dish. Layer macaroni, oysters, dots of butter, salt, and pepper. Repeat until nearly full.
  3. 3 Beat eggs with milk or cream. Pour mixture over the macaroni and oysters.
  4. 4 Top with cracker crumbs, dots of butter, and grated cheese. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.
