Baked Lemon Peach Drop Biscuits
Ingredients
- 1 quart flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 cup Crisco
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Milk
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon lemon extract
- Peaches, fresh or canned
- Whipped cream
Method
- 1 Sift flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder together.
- 2 Rub Crisco into the dry mixture with your fingertips.
- 3 Add lemon extract and enough milk to make a soft dough.
- 4 Drop mixture into greased gem pans and place half a peach on each.
- 5 Fill cavities with sugar and bake in a hot oven (425°F) for 25 minutes.
- 6 Serve with whipped and sweetened cream.
