Baked Lemon Peach Drop Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 1 quart flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract
  • Peaches, fresh or canned
  • Whipped cream

Method

  1. 1 Sift flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder together.
  2. 2 Rub Crisco into the dry mixture with your fingertips.
  3. 3 Add lemon extract and enough milk to make a soft dough.
  4. 4 Drop mixture into greased gem pans and place half a peach on each.
  5. 5 Fill cavities with sugar and bake in a hot oven (425°F) for 25 minutes.
  6. 6 Serve with whipped and sweetened cream.
