Baked Herring Rolls With Bread Crumbs
Ingredients
- few herrings
- browned bread crumbs
- butter or dripping
- parsley
Method
- 1 Split open the herrings and remove the back-bone.
- 2 Roll them up and place them with their roes on a greased baking sheet.
- 3 Cover with greased paper and bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for 10-15 minutes until cooked.
- 4 Place the rolls on a folded napkin and sprinkle brown bread crumbs in a straight line on each.
- 5 Garnish with the roes and sprigs of parsley.
