Baked Gooseberry Custard

Ingredients

  • 1 quart gooseberries
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 ounce butter
  • sugar to taste

Method

  1. 1 Scald the gooseberries and pass them through a sieve.
  2. 2 Stir in the eggs, bread crumbs, flour, butter, and sugar.
  3. 3 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) until set.
