Baked Gooseberry Bread Pudding
Ingredients
- 1 pint gooseberries
- ½ pint milk
- 4 oz moist sugar
- slices bread-and-butter
Method
- 1 Stew gooseberries with a little water and sugar for 10 minutes.
- 2 Dip bread slices in milk and place one at the bottom of a pie dish.
- 3 Add a layer of stewed gooseberries.
- 4 Repeat layers of dipped bread and gooseberries until the dish is full.
- 5 Bake gently for 1 hour.
