Baked Garlic Ginger Tofu

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (or 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 1 package (14 ounces) firm or extra-firm tofu, water-packed, drained

Method

  1. 1 Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil.
  2. 2 Drain tofu, wrap in paper towels, and let sit for 5 minutes to remove excess moisture.
  3. 3 While tofu drains, whisk soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and vegetable oil in a small bowl.
  4. 4 Slice tofu into 1/2-inch thick slices and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. 5 Pour sauce over tofu and gently turn slices to coat both sides evenly.
  6. 6 Bake for 15 minutes, flip, and bake 15 minutes more until golden brown and firm.
