  • 2 quarts milk
  • 1 pound flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 8 ounces sugar
  • 1 quart fruit (plums, gooseberries, or currants)
  • 1 ounce butter
  • 1 pinch salt

Method

  1. 1 In a large bowl, whisk together flour, eggs, sugar, salt, and 1 pint of milk until completely smooth.
  2. 2 Stir in the remaining 1 pint of milk and mix thoroughly to form a consistent batter.
