Baked Fruit Pie

Ingredients

  • Pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • Fruit
  • Sugar
  • Cornstarch
  • 1 egg white
  • Cold water

Method

  1. 1 Prepare the bottom crust using very cold water. Roll thin, prick with a fork, brush with egg white, and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
  2. 2 Stew the fruit and sweeten to taste. If the fruit is juicy, sprinkle a layer of cornstarch over it.
  3. 3 Place the top crust over the fruit, pinch the edges, and make several incisions in the top.
  4. 4 Sprinkle the top with granulated sugar and bake in a moderate oven (350°F) until golden.
