Baked Fruit Dumplings

Ingredients

  • 1 pint flour
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • milk
  • 1 pint water
  • butter
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • apple or fruit
  • cream

Method

  1. 1 Mix flour, 1/2 cup butter, and baking powder. Add milk to form a dough.
  2. 2 Roll out dough and cut into squares. Fill each square with apple or desired fruit.
  3. 3 Place dumplings in a pan with 1 pint water, a little butter, and 2/3 cup sugar.
  4. 4 Bring to a boil on the stove, then bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for at least 30 minutes.
  5. 5 Serve warm with cream.
