Baked Fruit Dumplings
Ingredients
- 1 pint flour
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- milk
- 1 pint water
- butter
- 2/3 cup sugar
- apple or fruit
- cream
Method
- 1 Mix flour, 1/2 cup butter, and baking powder. Add milk to form a dough.
- 2 Roll out dough and cut into squares. Fill each square with apple or desired fruit.
- 3 Place dumplings in a pan with 1 pint water, a little butter, and 2/3 cup sugar.
- 4 Bring to a boil on the stove, then bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for at least 30 minutes.
- 5 Serve warm with cream.
