Baked Escalloped Cauliflower
Ingredients
- 1 head cauliflower
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- enough cream or milk to moisten
- 1 egg, well-beaten
- salt and pepper to taste
Method
- 1 Boil cauliflower until tender. Separate into small pieces or leave unbroken.
- 2 Pack cauliflower into a buttered baking dish, stems downward.
- 3 Mix bread crumbs, melted butter, enough cream or milk to moisten, beaten egg, salt, and pepper.
- 4 Spread mixture over cauliflower. Cover and bake for 6 minutes, then uncover and brown.
- 5 Serve in the same dish.
