Baked Eggs Au Gratin With Cheese And Breadcrumbs
Ingredients
- 3 hard-boiled eggs
- 1 1/2 oz grated cheese
- 1 oz butter
- 2 tablespoonfuls breadcrumbs
- Nutmeg, pepper, and salt to taste
Method
- 1 Slice the hard-boiled eggs and place them in a well-buttered flat baking dish.
- 2 Sprinkle the eggs thickly with grated cheese, then dust with nutmeg, pepper, and salt.
- 3 Spread breadcrumbs over the top and scatter bits of butter over the breadcrumbs.
- 4 Bake until the breadcrumbs begin to brown.
