Baked Egg Biscuits
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons shortening
- 1/3 cup water
Method
- 1 Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- 2 Beat the egg, melt the shortening, and mix both into the water.
- 3 Add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients to form a soft dough.
- 4 Roll dough to ½ inch thickness on a floured surface and cut with a biscuit cutter.
- 5 Bake in a 350°F oven for about 25 minutes.
