Baked Date Cake
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups flour
- 1 heaping teaspoon baking powder
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 lb stoned and chopped dates
Method
- 1 Roll chopped dates in a portion of the flour.
- 2 Cream sugar and butter, then add well-beaten egg yolks and whites.
- 3 Fold in flour sifted with baking powder until smooth.
- 4 Stir in milk and floured dates, then beat thoroughly.
- 5 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for 45 minutes.
