Baked Custard Tarts
Ingredients
- 1 quart flour
- ½ pound butter
- salt
- 2 eggs, beaten
- cold water
- 1 pint cream
- 4 eggs
- 4 tablespoons powdered sugar
- nutmeg
Method
- 1 Mix flour, butter, salt, and 2 beaten eggs. Add cold water to form a paste. Chill.
- 2 Roll out dough. Cut into rounds. Form rims from strips of dough, notch edges, and place on rounds.
- 3 Bake shells for 15 minutes until set. Remove from oven.
- 4 Whisk cream, 4 eggs, and sugar. Fill baked shells with mixture.
- 5 Grate nutmeg on top. Bake for another 15 minutes until set.
