Baked Custard Puffs

Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1½ cups sifted flour
  • 5 eggs

Method

  1. 1 Boil milk and butter together in a saucepan.
  2. 2 Stir in sifted flour and let the mixture cool slightly.
  3. 3 Beat eggs separately and stir them into the batter.
  4. 4 Fill buttered custard cups halfway with batter.
  5. 5 Bake in a 425°F oven until puffed and golden.
  6. 6 Serve immediately on a hot plate, sprinkled with sugar if desired.
