Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • ½ cup currants
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • milk, as needed

Method

  1. 1 Rub butter into flour, then mix in salt, baking powder, sugar, and currants.
  2. 2 Add beaten eggs and enough milk to form a dough.
  3. 3 Roll out dough to 1-inch thickness and cut into rounds.
  4. 4 Bake in a slow oven (300°F) until done.
