Baked Currant Scones
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- ½ cup butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 3 tbsp sugar
- ½ cup currants
- 2 eggs, beaten
- milk, as needed
Method
- 1 Rub butter into flour, then mix in salt, baking powder, sugar, and currants.
- 2 Add beaten eggs and enough milk to form a dough.
- 3 Roll out dough to 1-inch thickness and cut into rounds.
- 4 Bake in a slow oven (300°F) until done.
