Baked Cream Puffs

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method

  1. 1 Bring Crisco and water to a boil in a small saucepan.
  2. 2 Add flour and salt, stirring well with a wooden spoon until the mixture leaves the sides of the pan.
  3. 3 Remove from heat and allow to cool until warm, not cold.
  4. 4 Add eggs one at a time, beating each one thoroughly into the mixture.
  5. 5 Turn mixture onto a greased plate and divide into small puffs or cakes.
  6. 6 Place on greased tins and bake in a hot oven (425°F) for 30 minutes until golden brown.
