Baked Cream Potatoes

Ingredients

  • raw potatoes, sliced very thin
  • butter, for greasing dish and layering
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1 pint cream or rich milk

Method

  1. 1 Butter an earthen dish. Place a layer of thinly sliced raw potatoes in the dish.
  2. 2 Add pieces of butter, then season with salt and pepper. Repeat layers until the dish is full.
  3. 3 Pour 1 pint of cream or rich milk over the top. Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for 30 minutes.
