Baked Cornmeal Spoon Bread With Sweet Peppers
Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1/3 cup sweet pepper
- 1 tablespoon fat
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons salt
Method
- 1 Mix water and cornmeal and bring to the boiling point. Cook for 5 minutes.
- 2 Beat eggs well and add them along with the remaining ingredients to the mush. Beat well.
- 3 Pour into a well-greased pan and bake in a hot oven (425°F) for 25 minutes.
- 4 Serve from the same dish with a spoon, accompanied by milk or syrup.
