Baked Cored Apples With Lemon Compote
Ingredients
- 5 apples
- 1 small lemon
- ¼ lb brown sugar
- ½ pint water
Method
- 1 Wipe apples but do not peel. Core four apples and place them in a deep dish.
- 2 Slice the fifth apple and the lemon. Add slices to the dish with the cored apples.
- 3 Sprinkle brown sugar over the apples and add water.
- 4 Bake until perfectly soft but do not let them lose their shape.
- 5 Remove from oven. Press and strain the cooked apple and lemon pieces over the whole apples.
- 6 Serve cold.
