Baked Cod And Bread Pie
Ingredients
- 1 lb cod fillet
- 2 cups stale bread, grated
- 2 cups boiling milk
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, minced
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- ¼ tsp pepper
- 1 tbsp prepared mustard
- ¼ cup butter, melted
- 1 pie crust
Method
- 1 Soak the cod, boil until cooked, then remove skin and bones. Mince the fish meat finely.
- 2 Pour boiling milk over the grated stale bread to wet it completely.
- 3 Mix in minced parsley, nutmeg, pepper, mustard, and melted butter.
- 4 Beat the mixture well, then fold in the minced fish until combined.
- 5 Line a dish with pie crust, pour in the fish mixture, cover with a top crust, and bake at 350°F until golden.
