Baked Choux Pastry Cream Puffs

Ingredients

  • 5 oz flour
  • 2 oz butter
  • 3 oz granulated sugar
  • 3 whole eggs
  • ½ pint water

Method

  1. 1 Sift flour into a bowl. In a saucepan, bring butter and water to a boil.
  2. 2 Remove from heat, stir in flour and sugar. Return to heat and beat until mixture leaves sides of pan.
  3. 3 Remove from heat and beat in eggs one at a time until smooth.
  4. 4 Shape dough into egg shapes using two dessertspoons dipped in hot water.
  5. 5 Place on greased baking sheet and bake at 350°F for one hour.
  6. 6 Open cakes at the side and fill with whipped cream or preserve. Brush with egg white or sugar syrup and sprinkle with pistachios, coconut, or sprinkles.
