Baked Chicken And Noodles
Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken, prepared for fricassee
- Noodles
- Chicken broth
- Shortening
- 1 tbsp minced parsley
- 1 tbsp minced onion
Method
- 1 Cook the chicken until tender, then remove it from the pot.
- 2 Cook the noodles in the chicken broth and season to taste.
- 3 Transfer the cooked noodles to a baking or casserole dish.
- 4 Brown the chicken quickly on one side in a frying pan with a little shortening.
- 5 Place the chicken on top of the noodles in the dish.
- 6 Thicken the remaining broth, stir in parsley and onion, then pour over the chicken and bake in a hot oven (425°F) for 25 minutes.
