Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken, prepared for fricassee
  • Noodles
  • Chicken broth
  • Shortening
  • 1 tbsp minced parsley
  • 1 tbsp minced onion

Method

  1. 1 Cook the chicken until tender, then remove it from the pot.
  2. 2 Cook the noodles in the chicken broth and season to taste.
  3. 3 Transfer the cooked noodles to a baking or casserole dish.
  4. 4 Brown the chicken quickly on one side in a frying pan with a little shortening.
  5. 5 Place the chicken on top of the noodles in the dish.
  6. 6 Thicken the remaining broth, stir in parsley and onion, then pour over the chicken and bake in a hot oven (425°F) for 25 minutes.
