Baked Cherry Custard

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb cherries, pitted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 cups prepared cherry mixture
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 eggs

Method

  1. 1 Pit cherries and place in a saucepan with sugar and water. Cook slowly until fruit is tender.
  2. 2 Measure 2 cups of the cooked cherry mixture. Combine with milk and eggs in a bowl, beating to mix thoroughly.
  3. 3 Pour mixture into custard cups. Set in a pan of warm water and bake in a moderate oven (350°F) until firm in the center.
