Baked Cherry Custard
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb cherries, pitted
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 cups prepared cherry mixture
- 1 cup milk
- 3 eggs
Method
- 1 Pit cherries and place in a saucepan with sugar and water. Cook slowly until fruit is tender.
- 2 Measure 2 cups of the cooked cherry mixture. Combine with milk and eggs in a bowl, beating to mix thoroughly.
- 3 Pour mixture into custard cups. Set in a pan of warm water and bake in a moderate oven (350°F) until firm in the center.
