Baked Cherry Cake
Ingredients
- ½ cup sugar
- ¼ cup butter
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 2½ cups flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup pitted cherries
- 1 egg
Method
- 1 Cream together the butter and sugar, add the egg, and beat well.
- 2 Sift the flour and baking powder, then add alternately with the milk, blending well.
- 3 Flour the cherries and stir them into the batter.
- 4 Pour the batter into a baking dish and bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for 30 minutes.
- 5 Serve with plain or whipped cream.
