Baked Cheese Cabbage Casserole
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked cabbage
- 1/2 cup fat
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 cup grated cheese
- 1 teaspoon salt
- buttered crumbs (optional)
Method
- 1 Melt fat in a saucepan and stir in flour, cayenne, and salt.
- 2 Gradually add milk, stirring constantly until the mixture boils.
- 3 Remove from heat and stir in the grated cheese until melted.
- 4 Pour the sauce over the cooked cabbage in a greased baking dish.
- 5 Sprinkle with buttered crumbs if desired and bake for 20 minutes.
