Baked Cheese And Vermicelli Casserole
Ingredients
- 2 ounces vermicelli
- 3 ounces grated cheese
- 1 pint milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 1/2 ounce butter
Method
- 1 Stew vermicelli in milk for 5 minutes, then stir in grated cheese and cook for another 5 minutes.
- 2 Add salt, remove from heat, and let cool slightly. Separate the egg, keeping the yolk in the pan and the white in a bowl.
- 3 Whip the egg white to stiff peaks, then fold it into the cheese mixture.
- 4 Pour into a buttered pie dish and bake for 20 minutes.
