Baked Cheese And Bread Custards
Ingredients
- 2 oz Cheshire cheese, grated
- 2 oz white bread, grated
- 2 oz butter
- 1/2 pint heavy cream
- 1/8 tsp white pepper
- 2 egg yolks
Method
- 1 Combine grated cheese, bread, butter, cream, and pepper in a saucepan. Boil gently until well mixed.
- 2 Remove from heat and let the mixture cool completely.
- 3 Beat in the egg yolks until smooth.
- 4 Pour the mixture into buttered paper cups or ramekins.
- 5 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for 20 minutes until set.
