Baked Celery With Ham And Cheese
Ingredients
- 1 head celery
- 1 ½ cups stock
- 2 oz ham, diced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ cup grated Cheddar cheese
- 1 ½ oz butter
- Gravy for serving
Method
- 1 Trim the celery, removing all green tops. Cut the stalks into 4-inch pieces.
- 2 Blanch the celery pieces, then braise them in stock with diced ham, salt, and pepper until tender.
- 3 Drain the celery and arrange it on a serving dish.
- 4 Sprinkle with grated Parmesan and Cheddar cheese, then dot with butter.
- 5 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) until golden brown.
- 6 Pour gravy over the top and serve immediately.
