Baked Cauliflower Cheese Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 cauliflower, washed, boiled, and drained
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 lb cheese, grated
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 2-3 handfuls grated bread crumbs
  • 1 tbsp grated cheese for topping

Method

  1. 1 Make a white sauce by melting butter, stirring in flour, and adding milk. Pour a thin layer into a baking dish.
  2. 2 Chop the boiled cauliflower. Layer it in the dish with grated cheese and pepper, repeating until the dish is nearly full.
  3. 3 Pour remaining sauce over the top. Mix bread crumbs with a little grated cheese and spread evenly over the surface.
  4. 4 Bake in a slow oven (300°F) for 15 minutes until a brown crust forms. Serve hot.
