Baked Cauliflower Au Gratin
Ingredients
- 1 head cauliflower
- 1 oz butter
- 1 oz flour
- ½ cup water
- 2 tbsp cream
- 2 oz grated Parmesan cheese
- salt and pepper to taste
- a pinch of cayenne
Method
- 1 Boil the cauliflower until tender, then remove green leaves and press into an oval shape in a baking dish.
- 2 Melt butter in a saucepan, whisk in flour until smooth, then add water and cook while stirring.
- 3 Stir in cream, 1 oz Parmesan, salt, pepper, and cayenne to create a sauce.
- 4 Pour the sauce over the cauliflower, sprinkle with remaining cheese, and broil or bake at 425°F until golden brown.
