Baked Caramel Custard Syrup
Ingredients
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup hot water
- 1 pint milk
- 4 eggs
- pinch of salt
Method
- 1 Brown ½ cup sugar in a saucepan, then carefully add ½ cup hot water and simmer for 15 minutes to create a caramel syrup.
- 2 Whisk 4 eggs with a pinch of salt and 1 pint milk until slightly beaten.
- 3 Pour the egg mixture into the caramel syrup and stir to combine.
- 4 Pour the mixture into a baking dish and bake in a slow oven (300°F) for 40 minutes.
- 5 Let cool and serve cold.
