Baked Cake Pudding

Ingredients

  • 3 cups stale cake crumbs
  • 1 ½ cups milk
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Butter and fine bread crumbs for greasing the mold

Method

  1. 1 Pour milk over cake crumbs and let soak until soft.
  2. 2 Stir in melted butter and beaten eggs; beat well.
  3. 3 Pour mixture into a buttered and bread-crumb-dusted mold.
  4. 4 Place mold in a pan of hot water in a 350°F oven.
  5. 5 Cover to prevent browning and bake for 45 minutes.
  6. 6 Serve hot with fruit or wine sauce.
