Baked Buttermilk Cornbread
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup cornmeal
- 3/4 cup flour
- 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp butter
- 3/4 cup sweet milk
- 1-2 eggs, beaten
Method
- 1 Sift together cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a bowl.
- 2 Work in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 3 Stir in the milk and beaten eggs just until combined.
- 4 Pour batter into a greased pan and bake in a moderate oven (350°F) until golden.
