Baked Beef Loaf With Bread Crumbs

Ingredients

  • 4 pounds ground beef (chuck or round)
  • 2 cups bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 4 eggs, unbeaten
  • 1 large onion, chopped fine
  • 2 teaspoons salt

Method

  1. 1 Mix the ground beef and chopped onion together in a large bowl.
  2. 2 Add the bread crumbs, parsley, pepper, and salt; mix well.
  3. 3 Add the eggs and mix thoroughly until combined.
  4. 4 Pack the mixture firmly into a square bread pan.
  5. 5 Bake in a 400°F oven for 2 hours, basting every 15 minutes with beef extract or stock.
  6. 6 Let the loaf cool in the pan before turning it out onto a platter and slicing.
