Baked Beef Loaf With Bread Crumbs
Ingredients
- 4 pounds ground beef (chuck or round)
- 2 cups bread crumbs
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 4 eggs, unbeaten
- 1 large onion, chopped fine
- 2 teaspoons salt
Method
- 1 Mix the ground beef and chopped onion together in a large bowl.
- 2 Add the bread crumbs, parsley, pepper, and salt; mix well.
- 3 Add the eggs and mix thoroughly until combined.
- 4 Pack the mixture firmly into a square bread pan.
- 5 Bake in a 400°F oven for 2 hours, basting every 15 minutes with beef extract or stock.
- 6 Let the loaf cool in the pan before turning it out onto a platter and slicing.
