Baked Beef And Tomato Pie
Ingredients
- thin slices of onion
- cold cooked beef, cut very thin
- flour
- pepper
- salt
- cold gravy
- tomatoes
- bread crumbs
- butter
Method
- 1 Layer thin onion slices and cold cooked beef in a pie dish, dredging each layer with flour, pepper, and salt.
- 2 Add any available cold gravy to the dish.
- 3 Scald, peel, and arrange whole tomatoes closely on top of the meat layers.
- 4 Sprinkle bread crumbs, salt, pepper, and small bits of butter over the tomatoes.
- 5 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) until the tomatoes are tender.
