Baked Beef And Potato Hand Pies
Ingredients
- plain short crust pastry
- equal quantities beef steak or beef skirt and potatoes
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- pepper and salt
Method
- 1 Dice the meat and potatoes into small pieces. Mix with the chopped onion, pepper, and salt.
- 2 Roll out the pastry and cut into large rounds using a saucepan lid as a guide.
- 3 Wet the edges of each pastry round. Place a heap of the meat and potato mixture in the center.
- 4 Fold the pastry over the filling, bringing the edges to the top. Crimp the edges firmly with your fingers to seal.
- 5 Place pasties on a greased baking sheet. Bake in a hot oven (425°F) for 30 to 60 minutes.
