Baked Beef and Mushroom Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 lb cold roast beef
  • 1 dozen mushrooms
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 oz butter
  • 1/2 pint beef gravy
  • 2 tsp vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

  1. 1 Slice the beef and clean the mushrooms. Season the meat with salt and pepper.
  2. 2 Layer half the beef in a pie dish, followed by mushrooms and half the butter pieces.
  3. 3 Add remaining beef, mushrooms, and butter in the same layered fashion.
  4. 4 Pour in the beef gravy and vinegar. Cover the dish closely.
  5. 5 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for 45 minutes.
