Baked Beef And Mashed Potatoes
Ingredients
- potatoes, boiled and peeled
- 2 small onions
- milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- salt and pepper
- slices of beef or mutton chops
- butter
Method
- 1 Boil potatoes, peel, and mash them in a mortar with two small onions.
- 2 Moisten the mashed potatoes with milk and one beaten egg, adding salt and pepper.
- 3 Season beef slices or mutton chops with salt, pepper, and extra onion if desired.
- 4 Rub a pudding dish with butter. Layer mashed potatoes and meat alternately, ending with potatoes.
- 5 Bake in an oven for one hour.
