Baked Apples With Apricot Jam And Milk Sauce

  • 1 lb apples
  • 2 tablespoonfuls apricot jam
  • 2 tablespoonfuls sugar
  • 1 oz butter
  • 4 teaspoons arrowroot
  • 1 pint milk

Method

  1. 1 Peel, core, and slice apples finely. Lay them in a pie dish and sprinkle with some sugar.
  2. 2 Dot with butter pieces and spread apricot jam over the apples.
  3. 3 Mix arrowroot with cold milk. Boil remaining milk with sugar, then stir into the arrowroot mixture until thickened.
  4. 4 Pour the thickened sauce over the apples and bake for 30 minutes.
