  • Pastry for deep baking dish
  • 3 cups peeled, cored, and quartered apples
  • Grated rind and juice of 1 lemon
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • Cinnamon or nutmeg, for sprinkling
  • Whipped cream, sweetened and flavored with grated lemon peel

Method
