Baked Apple Cornmeal Cake
Ingredients
- 2 cups cornmeal
- 0.5 cup sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tsp cream of tartar
- 0.5 tsp baking soda
- 1.5 cups milk
- 3 apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
Method
- 1 Mix cornmeal, sugar, salt, and cream of tartar in a bowl.
- 2 Dissolve baking soda in milk, then stir into the dry ingredients.
- 3 Fold in the thinly sliced apples.
- 4 Pour into a buttered shallow tin and bake at 350°F for 35 minutes.
