Baked Apple And Onion Bread Pudding
Ingredients
- 3 breakfastcupfuls Allinson breadcrumbs
- 3 eggs
- 1.5 lbs apples
- 2 lbs Spanish onions
- 2 oz butter
- 0.5 tsp spice
- pepper and salt to taste
- hot milk
Method
- 1 Slice onions and apples. Stew gently with 1 oz butter, spice, and seasoning until tender.
- 2 Mix breadcrumbs with beaten eggs and enough hot milk to smooth.
- 3 Butter a pie dish with 0.5 oz butter. Layer breadcrumbs, then apple/onion mixture.
- 4 Repeat layers until dish is full, finishing with breadcrumbs.
- 5 Dot top with remaining butter bits. Bake for 1 hour.
- 6 Serve with brown gravy.
